Roderic Irby Jr.

Roderic has worked in youth services for over 20 years. He comes to Playtime from the D.C. Office of the State Superintendent of Education's Youth Re-Engagement Center, where he served as Deputy Director for two of his six years there, helping young people disconnected from school obtain their high-school diploma, GED, or enroll in job training. He was born in Prince George's County, Md., and grew up in Fayetteville, N.C. Roderic graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a B.S in Criminal Justice. He serves on several community and nonprofit boards, and is the Assistant Girls' Basketball Coach at Largo High School. When he's not working, he loves going to new restaurants, sleeping, watching sports, and spending time with family and friends. He prides himself on being the change agent he wants to see in the world.
