Sofia Garay
Growing up in a bicultural household in a Virginia suburb of Washington, D.C., Sofia is passionate about working with diverse communities. Since graduating from the University of Maryland with a B.A. in Criminology and Criminal Justice in May 2023, Sofia has focused on working with underserved communities within the D.C. metropolitan area. Prior to joining Playtime, Sofia worked as an intern at The Giving Square, a nonprofit organization centered around developing children’s philanthropic identities, and as an investigative intern at the Fairfax County Public Defender’s Office. Outside of work, Sofia loves to go on long runs, read mystery books, and try new recipes. She also coaches a Girls on the Run team and tutors high school students at the D.C. Jail.
