Tiesha was born and raised in Washington, D.C. From a young age, she wanted to work with children and recalls lining up her stuffed animals, getting them ready for class. Her passion for education continued into her academics as she studied Sociology and Education at Trinity Washington University. Her path was influenced when she started studying the effects of homelessness in the classroom. Her interest led to a wonderful opportunity interning for Playtime in her senior year of college. Before graduating in 2017, she became a site manager for Playtime and led the opening of the Quality Inn shelter site. Tiesha then moved to Richmond where she served for two years as a Lead Teacher with a Learning Care Group preschool, working with four-year-olds. She returned to Playtime in August 2020 bringing her teaching experience and desire to cater to the socio-emotional and developmental needs of children through play.
