Courtney Nickens

Courtney Nickens

Courtney Nickens is a recent graduate of Morgan State University where she attained a Master's Degree in Social Work. However, she is a self-described Bowie State Bulldog at heart, where she received a Bachelor' degree in Social Work. Courtney is a native of Southern Prince George's County, MD and has grown to love the area. While attending undergrad, her passion for social justice and equity grew tremendously, which is why she was drawn to Playtime. She believes that creating equitable programs that create a range of opportunities on a holistic level is extremely beneficial to underserved communities and individuals, or groups affected by harmful institutions or systems. Her experience working with low-income families in Baltimore and families experiencing homelessness in Charles County further encouraged her to never give up when given the tools and resources to make a difference in any community.
