SCHOOL RESOURCES

Homeless Liaison
Each school has a liaison who is assigned to assist students experiencing homelessness in a variety of ways, including: school supplies, uniforms, parent training, eye check-ups and eyeglasses, emergency dental care. Call 202-422-5643 for additional assistance. (Program Coordinator: 202-309-5363)

Office of the Ombudsman
Provides conflict resolution services to families in preK-12 public schools.

Advocates for Justice and Education

Serves families of children and youth aged 0-26 who have special needs, to ensure equal access to education and health services. Provides education about student rights and free legal representation. Teen Parent Assessment Program

Works to empower youth who are pregnant or parenting to move toward self-sufficiency and decrease additional unintended pregnancies.

Grandparent Subsidy Program

Provides monthly financial assistance to help District grandparents who are raising their grandchild, great-grandchild, great-niece, or great-nephew care for the child related to and living with them.
